Sizing is true to size. I bought an XL for my 6', 220lb frame and it fits spot on with just a t-shirt underneath. Maybe a little tight across the shoulders when stretching forward. I subsequently bought an XXL for when I need to layer or looking for a looser fit.
Stitching is great with just a few loose threads.
Functionality is fantastic. Down to the side zippers with a magnetic flap retention. Chest pockets that can be accessed from the top and side. Re-enforced elbows and fore-arms. Shoulder pockets I thought I will never use, but is extremely useful for small quick to reach items. The inside pockets for items you want to protect, and even a rubber-like earphone lead on the left hand side. The main zipper is double sided and can be opened from the bottom if you need something from your pockets. The hood is retained very well with the loop and button yet is easy to undo while wearing the jacket.
It is not overly militaristic or tactical and can be worn as an every day jacket without upsetting people.
The cloth is a little stiff, but will wear in, expecially after a wash. It is not waterproof as a sailor's oil skin, but is great protection for the odd unexpected downpour or light misty rain we get in the PNW.
The only change I would suggest is to swap the hook and loop fasteners on the main zipper storm flap or to use magnets in stead. The hook portion on the flap is quite aggressive and hooks on clothing when the jacket is worn open. I hope the product managers will consider this.
A really great jacket of good quality at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
